Abuse leaves us wounded, scared and misunderstood. The world appears upside down rather than right side up. We look at life and ourselves through a false and cracked lens. In our shame we hide the pain. In our inadequacy, insecurity and lost self, we pretend we are someone we are not. Through poetry and pictures in “A Journey From Abuse to Abounding”, layers of the false self are peeled away. We then find our true identity as beloved children created in the image of God. Whole and complete not lacking anything.
